Call Me Out!
Feel like threading something out with Jane? Homestuck's canon, AUs, taking place within a game she's had CR with one of your characters with, meme-type prompts, text conversations, or otherwise? Come at me, bros!
Just warn for anything like gore, smut, etc. in the title of your toplevel and let's get down to business!

Yes, but he could pretend he was happy, which he's not good at.
Maybe I'll cook it so at least I can have a meal. I'll tell him to eat before he comes over.
[Soldier mom is not confident in her domestic skills. Except cleaning. She's good at cleaning.]
no subject
And if he doesn't like it, he can at least help you improve it, right?
And then maybe you two could cook something together and it'd be sweet!
But I'm sure he's going to love it. Do you know why? Because you'll have made it for him!
That is the ultimate secret to cooking for other people: keeping those other people in your heart while you cook!

[Too romantic for Lightning.]

"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach"!
And since you've already got Xander's heart, there's no pressure.
[Let her live vicariously through Soldier Mom and Xandad okay, have a romance, be in love, do what makes you happy.]
no subject
That just adds more pressure.
You don't know his family and their standards.
no subject
On thirty minutes' notice?
Because if that is actually what is hypothetically happening, I say you both ditch them for pizza.
no subject
But if I had to feed his family I would order pizza.
I am not going to be someone's housewife just to make their family happy.
no subject
I don't think Xander would have become so smitten with you if you were the typical kind of housewife girl, anyway.
And I know I like you just as you are.
Personally, I do it because personal marketing research is important. And I like it. And...it's fun to weaponize it.
no subject
He needs to tell me what he loves about me other than me lecturing everyone about losing hope.
You make pies into a deadly weapon, that's for sure.
no subject
He always looks really happy after you two have been sparring, like he's honestly enjoying himself! But not in a gross way.
As for anything else, I am not his confidant, so I wouldn't know and I suggest you have a talk to him about it if you're very concerned.
Oho, well, I'll say this:
Being self-sufficient in as many areas as possible is a wonderful intimidation factor for bullheaded executive-types who don't expect a teenage girl to understand carrotish business tactics.
no subject
His reflexes are getting better, but he's still got a way to go.
Would he even tell me is the question.
My way of being self-sufficient would make people think I'm a bachelor if I was a man.
no subject
So? That's just another way of doing things. There's nothing wrong with it.
no subject
For now. If [Not when.] Xander ever decides he'd want to marry me, I can't exactly live like that anymore.
no subject
no subject
Which isn't that much different than what happens when I'm around Serah. Just a lot of talking, doing things together, and spending time together.
I just feel that it might change if he were to ever want to marry me, and that scares me.
[I.e. mom is afraid that this might end up bad if it happens and they break up.]
no subject
Talking and doing things together and spending time together...if you love someone, even spending time doing hard work isn't so hard.
And if it changes, you'll both be working through those changes together. That's part of what being married is.
Besides, I certainly don't expect that to happen between you two for quite some time. You and Xander both like to take your time thinking about things and figuring out how to do them in the best way possible. Even if you are a little scared, I'll bet he's scared, too, so...you'll kind of need that time.
no subject
At that rate I'll have to be the one to propose if he's too scared to.
[Imagine Light getting down on one knee.]
no subject
It seems like it.
And, well, if it comes down to that, I do so want to help you pick out a ring.
no subject
Xander might like it.
no subject
What would you want it to look like? Hypothetically of course.
no subject
Maybe it should be something simpler than that anyways.

[So much shades of pink and red between the two of them.]

[If neither of you know about colors then Jane will help, it's cool.]
